Personal Statement
Madeline is based in Manchester. Going to school in the city centre gave her a love of architecture, and it is a place where she feels at home. Her work explores how buildings and pathways embody our shared history, family stories and memories. She is drawn to familiar buildings where people meet, that unite communities and families, and that evidence change and the passage of time.
After many years working as a lecturer, she returned to education, and was awarded an MA Ceramics by the University of Central Lancashire in December 2022. She has since set up her own ceramic studio, whilst also working as a part-time mentor for the charity Arts Emergency.
Her ceramic work has been showcased in a number of exhibitions and fairs in the North West of England, and Wales.
