Personal Statement
Madeline is based in Manchester, where the architecture and the urban landscape have been a significant source of inspiration for her. Going to school in the city centre gave Madeline a love of the built environment and the pathways and spaces of the city. She is inspired by the density, colours and sight lines of the city centre streets, and her work explores architecture, pathways, and memory. After many years working as a lecturer, she recently returned to education, and was awarded an MA Ceramics by the University of Central Lancashire in December 2022. She works as a part-time mentor for the mentoring charity Arts Emergency.
